Sabata Jonguhlanga Dalindyebo, (1928–1986) was the ruler (Inkosi Enkhulu) of the Thembu people of South Africa. He reigned from June 30, 1954 to 1980, when he was deposed by the government of Kaiser Matanzima on trumped-up charges, causing him to flee to exile in Lusaka, Zambia to join the African National Congress (ANC), where he died.
He was buried in a very undignified manner not fit for a king by the Matanzima regime, with people screened by the regime's security branch and no political speeches allowed. It was only in 1989 that the he was reburied in a dignified manner and people from all walks of life bade farewell to their beloved king. Among the dignitaries on that day were Bishop Stanley Mogoba and the late Peter Mokaba.
